Nepal is the country of negativity.

The Frustration

Nepal has always been looked up as a country of peace, prosperity, bravery, and kindness also blessed by millions of gods with heart-filling nature, variety of cultures, languages, traditions, monuments, religions and of course world’s highest mountain, Mount Everest that every Nepalese can be proud of. With that said Nepal is also worldly renowned for its bravery but that was all in the past. Now, all that proudness that being a citizen of Nepal has gone and all that’s left is Frustration in most of the people and here are the reasons why?

Polluted water: Being the second richest country in water resources, there is a scarcity of water in the city areas as well as most of the rural areas. I mean to say, what’s the use of having water resources if you can’t even use it. Plus the most rivers, which is considered extremely holistic and pure are polluted with garbage and drainage.

Polluted surrounding: Besides the air and water pollution, theirs one more frustration and that is the noise. The country of peace and prosperity is echoed and vibrated by the noises, hornets and screams almost 24/7.

Toxic Air: Nepal has been listed as one of the most vulnerable and polluted cities in the world and it’s not any kind of surprise. The dust in most areas of Nepal is extremely high that it can reduce your half lifespan, mostly in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu.

The illusion of Happiness: People of Nepal are living under the illusion of happiness and prosperity. The effects of social media are so deeply inherited, that people consider it as happiness. Getting more likes in your Facebook is happiness, Posting what you had today for lunch on Instagram is Happiness, Getting 100 subscribers In my channel is Happiness. In fact, everything is just an illusion.

Society: If you experience some years of living in Nepalese society, you can clearly see that society has been divided into three layers. The first layers are rich people who have a business and are financially independent, second are middle-class people who constantly try and think about getting rich the whole time and lastly the third layer of poor people who just struggle to survive a day. It’s all about the Money in the end.

No supportive environment: People in Nepal don’t follow a passion, only a few and rare souls so that because everyone’s limited to these unusual trends and belief of financial limitations. Only who are financial success pursue them if they have one? On top of that, the whole education system and society are against those ones who follow a passion. It’s like a taboo to pursue your dreams.

No motivation: If you are suited and well-dressed and motivated to do something well today. Nepal is a place where people won’t let that happen. That’s because the air, traffic jam, lack of system etc. will distract you so much that you will be disturbed and you will want to go abroad. Plus thanks to that mentality of those people who don’t want to see you rise up and always want to drag you down.

Fucking Politics: Nepal has had a very bad and dark history which can’t be forgotten as long as Nepal remains. That’s what brought the democracy in hope of something good but the citizens dug their own grave. Nepal has been labeled as a free country, thanks to democracy but it has been so free that anyone can do anything anywhere and anytime. The unskilled and uneducated politicians and most of the corrupted people have been playing with everyone’s life but no one seems to care as I already mention everyone’s just worried about their illusion of happiness.

No, any respect: Clearly the art, skills, and talents aren’t respected at all in Nepalese society. Only the ones who have money are respected and praised. It may sound strange but that is how it goes.

Corruption: Isn’t it obvious, in a society full of money minded people; your earnings won’t be enough. You want more money than you earn then you start to be corrupted. From the people like small business owners to the high leveled governors, everyone starts to corrupt. Like I said before, Money is everything here.

No time value: well, there’s a time system of Nepalese people that almost everyone strictly follows. It’s called Nepali time, where everything shifts to later. For instance, if you have an important meeting at 10 a.m. at the office, you say this magical word “Nepali time” and boom, even if reach 2 hours late, the meeting wouldn’t have started yet. Isn’t it amusing?

Roadways: Roadway is the most used means of transportation in Nepal. “Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destination”, I believe Nepalese contractors have taken this phrase seriously, that’s why they have not completed the roadways in their contract time. Plus the work done is never sustainable.

Development: Development was defined as the continuous positive change but that works negatively in Nepal. In fact, the development in Nepal has only brought pollution, destruction of nature and many more things.

System: for the most important and interesting part “There’s no system in Nepal because everyone keeps saying that there’s no system in here and keeps violating them”. Let me present you an interesting example, A guy crosses road not from zebra crossing even though it’s right there and he says “there’s no any system in Nepal” and blames it to the politicians and rule makers. In the same manner, another person comes and sees the first guy crossing the road and yells “there’s no system” and he too crosses a road without zebra crossing. What wonderful thoughts.

Saying all this, I am no any exceptional or foreigners. I too am a part of this negativity and foolishness.
